Teams and Rosters in World Team Tennis 2020

What WTT means?

WTT is a professional tennis with the innovative team format co-founded by Billie Jean King in the 1970s. World TeamTennis is recognized as the leader in professional team tennis competition and features many of the world's best players competing annually for the King Trophy.

WTT season 2020 includes 9 teams. Every team has players in singles – men's and women's, doubles – men's and women's and mixed doubles. In the period of 12th-30th July are the playoffs of WTT tennis and each team plays 14 matches. Every match has 5 sets with one set each of men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles.

To win the set teams need to reach five games. A nine-point tiebreaker is played if a set reaches four games all. One point is awarded for each game won and the scoring is cumulative.

New York Empire

Luke Jensen

Luke Jensen is the coach of the New York Empire tennis team. In his career as a professional team tennis player he has been dominating Doubles and Mixed Doubles. He reached number 6 in World Ranking in Doubles. During his career he competed and won against some of the greatest tennis players as Bjorn Borg, John McEnroe, Ivan Lendl, Stefan Edberg, and Boris Becker. As a coach of the NY Empire tennis team Luke Jensen reached the championships in his first year.

Hayley Baptiste

Hayley Baptiste is an American tennis player. She plays right-handed (two-handed backhand). In the 2019 City Open she beat Grand Slam finalist Madison Keys in first round. Baptiste has won three singles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit. In singles her higher ranking is No 229 – she reached it 6 months ago. Her higher ranking in doubles is number 628 - a year ago.

Kim Clijsters

Kim Clijsters is a Belgian tennis player. She won 3 times US Open Championship. In 2009 is her second title in US Open Championship and makes her first mother to win a Grand Slam title since 1980 when Evonnne Goolagong Cawley won it. Clijsters reached world No. 1 ranking in both – singles and doubles.

Sabine Lisicki

Sabine Lisicki is a German tennis player. She plays right-handed (two-handed backhand). This season in WTT tennis is her debut with the New York Empire. Kveta Peschke

Kveta Peschke is a professional tennis player from Czech Republic. She plays right-handed (two-handed backhand). She won her first Grand Slam title in 2011 with Srebotnik winning the Wimbledon doubles title. She peaking at No 26 in the ranking in November 2005 and reached No 1 ranking in WTA Doubles on July 4th, 2011.

Neal Skupski

Neal Skupski is a British professional tennis player. He has won 22 ATP Challenger doubles crowns with his brother Ken. Together they reached the quarterfinals of Wimbledon in 2017. Skupski is raking of No 27 in May 2019 in Doubles.

Jack Sock

Jack Sock is an American professional tennis player. He plays right-handed (two-handed backhand). He is a gold and bronze medalist from the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016. The gold medal is in Mixed Doubles alongside Bethanie Mattek – Sands and the bronze medal is in men's doubles alongside with Steve Johnson. Andreja Klepac

Andreja Klepac is a Slovenian professional tennis player. In 2017 she earned WTT Female MVP honors. She won the Western and Southern Open Doubles Title in 2019 alongside Hradecka. Her highest career ranking is No 12 in July 2018 and number 99 in singles in July 2008.

Austin Krajicek

Craig Kardon

Caroline Dolehide is an American professional tennis player. She is only 21 but has 6 ITF titles in Singles and 8 ITF titles in Doubles. Her higher ranking till now is No 30 in the World.

Taylor Fritz

Taylor Fritz is an American professional tennis player. In 2019 he earns 5 Top-10 wins and became the youngest American ranked in the Top-25 since Andy Roddick. He is honored as ATP's Start of Tomorrow in 2016 because he made to ne the youngest player finished inside top 100.

Sofia Kenin

Taylor Townsend

Taylor Townsend is an American professional tennis player. She played 2 years right-handed and after that switched to left-hand. Over the last three years, Townsend has arguably been the most dominant player in WTT posting above .500 winning percentages in both singles and doubles. In 2019 she managed to US Open Quarterfinals.

Donald Young

Donald Young is an American professional tennis player. In 2017 he managed to the finals of Roland Garros Doubles. His higher ranking is No 38 in the World.

San Diego Aviators

John Lloyd

John Lloyd is the coach of the San Diego Aviators. As a player he has 3 titles from Grand Slam in Mixed Doubles. As a coach in 2016 he is named WTT Coach of the Year prior to leading the Aviators to their first King Trophy in team history.

Ryan Harrison

Ryan Harrison is an American professional tennis player. In 2020 he is named to 2020 WTT All-Star Match. He has 1 title in his career in Singles and 4 titles in Doubles. One of his titles on Doubles is from French Open in 2017.

Christina McHale

Christina McHale is an American professional tennis player. She has top ten wins over Victoria Azarenka, Petra Kvitova and Garbine Muguruza. She has 2 WTA Doubles titles and on WTA Singles. Her highest ranking in singles is No 24 and in Doubles is no 35.

Nicole Melichar

Darija Jurak
